Willem-Jan Gualtherie was secretaris van Sint-Oedenrode. Een secretaris hield de dorpsadministratie bij. Maar Gualtherie had ruzie met zijn schoonvader Gerard de Jong. Die was secretaris van Veghel. De ruzie ging over Eerde. De huizen in Eerde waren verdeeld over Schijndel, Sint-Oedenrode en Veghel. Het leek wel een puzzel.
